Congratulations to Phil Salerno for being awarded the 2023 CDO of the Year Award during last week’s Fall Business Meeting and CDO Summit in Houston!

Over his more than 30 years at Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Jersey, Phil has been an ardent supporter of the mission of CMN Hospitals and a leader among his peers of Chief Development Officers around the network. In addition to serving as the Chair of the CDO Advisory Committee for the past 3 years, Phil laid the groundwork and planning for many key initiatives in place today—such as the Market Realignment Process and Membership Fee Agreement. Never afraid to ask tough questions, Phil always ensured that the voice of CDOs was top of mind when making impactful decisions for our member hospitals. His input undoubtedly assured that even the most challenging of topics were received in a positive light by foundation leaders who knew that consideration had been given to their viewpoint and concerns in advance.

Phil is now embarking on the next chapter of his life, where he can hopefully take some time to slow down and enjoy time with friends and family. CMN Hospitals is proud to recognize Phil for his selfless contributions to making the relationships between the organization and foundation leaders at our member hospitals stronger than ever.
