Jack Nicklaus Ceremonial Tee Shot at Masters Tournament & Fundraiser for Play Yellow

Play Yellow is an important strategic initiative of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Jack’s love for yellow starts with Craig Smith, the son of Barbara’s minister and a passionate young fan in Jack’s hometown of Columbus, Ohio, was diagnosed in 1968 with a rare bone cancer (Ewing Sarcoma) that would tragically end his life in June of 1971 at age 13. Jack would call him frequently, and during one conversation following a win, Craig said he predicted victory because he was wearing his lucky yellow shirt. Jack and Barbara have committed their lives to raising funds and awareness for the 10 million children treated every year. Not only are they actively involved with their own hospital in South Florida, they want to help all children’s hospitals in North America.

Jack will begin the 2020 Masters with the ceremonial tee shot on Thursday, November 12th, at the Augusta National Golf Club – a traditional reserved only for two honorary starters, him and Gary Player. Jack also is the record holder for the most Masters wins. Making this year’s tee shot even more special, Jack will also be teeing off a one-of-a-kind fundraiser for Play Yellow that’s never been done before.

While taking part in this momentous occasion, Jack will be wearing a special edition Asher Golf glove commissioned by Golf.com and the Play Yellow AHEAD Golden Bear hat. Jack will sign both of them, and they will be auctioned off to raise critical funds for kids in need. The funds will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital of the donor’s choice. To participate or share the auction for these special edition items, visit PlayYellow.org to find the eBay listing.

In addition, every person who donates $50 on PlayYellow.org will receive a Jack Nicklaus Play Yellow cap to help raise awareness for Play Yellow.

These opportunities won’t be around for long. Participate in the auction or get a donation with a hat from November 12th to 19th.
