Congratulations to David L. Flood, the 2019 AHP Si Seymour Award recipient

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is thrilled to congratulate David Flood on receiving the 2019 Association for Healthcare Philanthropy’s highest honor, the Si Seymour Award. The AHP Si Seymour Award, recognizes distinguished leadership in association affairs and in the health care philanthropy community. Harold J. (Si) Seymour, one of the trailblazers in the world of philanthropy who fostered and promoted exemplary standards of excellence for volunteerism and philanthropic support.
Since 2013, Dave has been leading Intermountain Healthcare Foundation which raises funds for Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. He is a wonderful advocate of CMN Hospitals and we are proud to have him as part of our network.
David L. Flood serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Intermountain Healthcare, one of the nation’s preeminent health care delivery systems based in Salt Lake City, Utah, while also serving as President of the Intermountain Foundation. As a member of Intermountain’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT) collectively providing strategic direction to the system, he is responsible for the direction and oversight of the Intermountain Foundation, a comprehensive health care fundraising network designed to effectively meet the philanthropic and research needs of Intermountain’s 23 hospitals and related health care services.
Prior to his arrival at Intermountain in 2013, Dave held leadership roles within health care and education, most recently as President of the Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations in New Jersey.
Dave is involved in, and has been recognized by numerous organizations in his personal and professional life ranging from local to international in scope. He recently served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), where he currently serves as a member of the Board. He has previously been named New Jersey’s Outstanding Professional Fundraiser by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He has been invited to present to numerous professional groups within and outside of the U.S. on the role of philanthropy and not for profit governance, including having served as the opening keynote speaker at the Healthcare Philanthropy Congress in Frankfurt, Germany.
He was born and raised in New Jersey, attended Seton Hall Prep where he currently serves on the school’s Board of Trustees, and received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Seton Hall University, where he similarly serves on the university’s Board of Regents. He and his wife, Karen, are the proud parents of four children and reside in Salt Lake City.
