2020 Partnership Fee Announcement
Dear Colleagues,
Thank you so much for your continued support and partnership in advancing the mission of both your hospital and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Last year, our fundraising results were very positive. Together, we raised more than $350 million in the US which represents $16 million in growth, a 5% increase.
As outlined in the new partnership model adopted by CMN Hospital’s Board of Trustees, and based on the positive results in 2018 and the growth plans for 2019-2020, the BOT approved a 5% increase in base fees for 2020, which will cover approximately $1.25 million of the investment needed to fuel fundraising growth. The remaining investment ($2.05 million) will come from additional corporate underwriting and through repurposing existing resources.
As part of the new partnership model, CMN Hospitals is notifying member hospitals of this increase at least six months in advance. The 2020 increase will take effect on January 1, 2020. You will receive the invoice in September 2019 with a due date of January 1, 2020.
Special thanks to all US markets that completed the 2019 CDO Value Survey. The findings state that 86% of CDOs expect fundraising growth from the CMN Hospitals partnership. In order to meet this expectation, our plan is to continue this momentum through 2019 with a goal to generate an additional $16.5 million, or 5% more than the 2018 total. We are midway through the year and campaigns are already going strong.
The plan includes significant growth from Corporate Partnerships, Dance Marathon, Extra Life, and will include enhancing our use of data, technology and insights to transform our fundraising and better serve you and your hospital.
An estimated $3.3 million investment will be needed to achieve the goals in 2020. We will launch a new ambitious strategic plan to increase fundraising by $200 million in 2024. To help achieve this goal we will need additional resources. The BOT approved the following:
- Increased corporate underwriting
- Reallocation of budget and personnel
- Membership fee increase in accordance with the Membership Fee plan
As we look at the collective partnership and the momentum achieved last year, this is the opportune time to make a bold commitment to our mutual and shared growth. As always, we will maintain our focus on 1) maximizing the return on your investment in CMN Hospitals and 2) help provide the resources for your hospital to treat more children in need.
If you have any questions about the membership fee increase or partnership model, please contact Teri Nestel, Chief Administration Officer, (tnestel@cmnhospitals.org) or Shirley Rogers, Senior Vice President, Hospital Relations, (srogers@cmnhospitals.org)
Finally, thank you for your partnership, your confidence and support.
Sincerely,
Nana Mensah, Chairman, CMN Hospitals Board of Trustees
John Lauck, President & CEO, CMN Hospitals
