Market Alignment Project Update – October 2018
Dear CMN Hospitals CDO Colleagues:
The Market Alignment Project team greatly appreciated the feedback received from the CDO survey sent in September (over 90 responses) and the input provide via one on one CDO phone conversations and feedback from the CDO Advisory Board and Summit discussion.
Following last week’s informative and helpful session on the market alignment project, the committee met again to begin designing a well-defined process to guide CMN Hospital members through alignment discussions.
Based on this feedback, we have started looking at guidelines that will assure the process is clear, timely, fairly informed and approached with positive intent. For instance:
- Who should the initial outreach come from? We believe it should be the CDO.
- We are considering benchmarks at 30 and 60 days to insure the CDO stakeholders begin to communicate with one another in a timely manner.
- We are developing a suggested timeline that will further define the steps to be taken and identify the data that is needed for review.
- We are also working on a process to address an impasse if the hospitals cannot reach a final decision.
All of this is based on direct feedback gathered through our research and outreach with CDO’s and CMNH Partners.
In terms of next steps to vet the committee’s work, click here to see the notes from the CDO Summit to be sure we captured everyone’s viewpoint and allow others to add their feedback.
While we accomplished a great deal in our meeting, there are more details that need to be addressed, and then information sharing will begin with Town Hall calls followed by vetting with the CDO Advisory Board and finally presenting the recommendation to the CMN Hospitals Board of Trustees for vote early in 2019.
In the meantime, please feel to reach out to any of the committee members, Sue Doliner, Phil Salerno or Grant Stirling or call Shirley Rogers or Teri Nestel. The final plan will only be as good as the input it receives.
On behalf of the committee, thank you for your thoughtful comments and suggestions.
