Savannah Market Update as of January 5, 2018
The Memorial Health Foundation for the Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah, the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ member hospital in the Savannah, Georgia, announced that it has been bought by a for-profit organization.
As a requirement of Children’s Miracle Network Hospital’s membership, member hospitals must maintain nonprofit status. Due to Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah and the Foundation no longer maintaining its nonprofits status, the partnership with Children’s Miracle Network hospitals ceased effective close of business December 31, 2017.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is committed to serving the children of Savannah and will work to secure a new hospital.
In the meantime, all funds raised by fundraising partners will be kept local and will be held in an escrow account to be distributed to the new local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital when it is identified. The new member will be selected based on impact and the ability to raise the greatest amount of funds for the kids in Savannah.

- Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is aggressively seeking to secure a new partner hospital. The new member will be selected based on impact and the ability to raise the greatest amount of funds for the kids in Savannah.

- We’re pleased to announce that Kelly Claxton the former Children’s Miracle Network Hospital program director at Memorial Health Foundation, will continue to support the market on an interim basis (we hope it will become permanent), to work with all Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partners to ensure all fundraising activity continues to move forward for the children of Savannah.
