Updated 2020 CDO Summit Attendance Policy
Most are familiar with the CDO Summit Attendance policy that was piloted in 2018 and then adopted in 2019. The policy was created due to increasing requests from hospital and foundations with large development staffs wanting to send a senior leader in lieu of the CDO’s attendance to the CDO Summit. The attendance policy and participants were identified based on these two measures:
- top 30 members based on fundraising results
- top 30 members based on fees paid
When blending both lists there was a total of 39 markets listed below.
As a reminder, in the event the respective CDO is unavailable to attend, they are welcome to send another senior leader to the meeting. The proxy will need to be a senior decision maker from the member hospital development/foundation who meets the following criteria:
- Has a portfolio of responsibilities including CMN Hospitals but which is broader and deeper than this one program.
- Can be a decision maker for her/his development program at each meeting.
- Could potentially provide continuity by attending the CDO meeting each year.
As always, a CDO is welcome to have another member of his or her staff, other than the program director, attend the CDO sessions with them.
