Change to Rite Aid’s 2023 Balloon Campaign

As you know, Rite Aid recently filed for Chapter 11 and, while the outcome of that is still unclear, it does mean that they will not be holding a balloon campaign to support member hospitals in 2023.

In 2022, Rite Aid’s balloon campaign raised $372,700 for 52 different member hospitals.

As Rite Aid navigates this challenging business environment, we aim to stay close partners and encourage you to continue appropriate stewardship. At this time, we are unsure how the reported store closures and Chapter 11 filings will impact future campaigns, or our hospitals’ ability and eligibility to apply for the Healthy Future grants in 2024 and beyond.

With regard to stores closures, we have not received a list of store closures from Rite Aid, and we are unlikely to receive those in the future. However, as we gain more information, it will be shared on Mission Control and through your Market Director.

Rite Aid has been supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1994 and in that time raised more than $115,000,000 for our member hospitals. We are certainly grateful for their support and aim to maintain a relationship with our contacts in hopes of continuing this storied partnership in the future.

If you would like to discuss this change, do not hesitate to let us know. We are here to support you in any way possible.
