New Tentative Dates for Children’s Hospitals Week 2020

Dear Colleagues,

With you, we continue to monitor the situation with COVID-19 and are optimistic about the future. However, we acknowledge we still have a long road ahead before we begin to recover from this crisis.

In anticipation of recovery, we have tentatively rescheduled the Children’s Hospitals Week event for Aug. 17-19 at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida. The dates are tentative because your health and safety is paramount. If the situation in the United States has not improved significantly, we may be forced to cancel the event altogether.

This timing enables us to combine the Children’s Hospitals Week event with our annual Fall Business Meeting, which was scheduled for September in Houston, Texas. We hope to turn these events into an amazing few days of celebrating the amazing work we do while offering tools and resources to continue that success. Registration will open June 1. We will be in touch with additional registration and event details.

We appreciate the Gaylord Palms Resort working with us to find alternative dates so our network of supporters – including hospitals, partners, patients and incentive winners – have the opportunity to connect and engage in-person.

#ChildrensHospitalsWeek: In the meantime, the awareness activities of #ChildrensHosptialsWeek, April 6-12, will continue as planned. We recognize that many of you may not be able to participate in the ways and to the level you anticipated. We understand and support those decisions.

Extra Life United: We are hosting Extra Life United Online Edition during #ChildrensHospitalsWeek. Participation details have been shared with the Extra Life community. Learn more at extra-life.org/united and follow the excitement at @ExraLife4Kids on social media.

Thank you for your continued support during these uncertain times.

Stay healthy and safe,
Teri Nestel
Interim President & CEO
