2018 Walmart & Sam’s Club Campaign
2018 is a BIG year for Walmart and Sam’s Club fundraising. Together Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members will hit the $1 billion dollar mark in funds raised for CMN Hospitals. This is the most money a corporation has raised for any charity — history in the making!
What can you do to help? Download the In Flight app to your phone or tablet and check in when you visit a Walmart or Sam’s Club during the campaign (August 27 – September 30). The app will tell you who the store manager is and you can thank them for their great work, snap a quick picture, and leave a comment.
In addition to the In Flight check-ins, please encourage your team to write a blog post or two for your hospital’s CMN Hospitals blog and focus on telling a story highlighting an associate’s effort in the campaign. Walmart management often checks the blogs for local stories highlighting associates, and this is a simple way to steward and recognize their great work.
We’ve added a picture of the local champion child, name, age, illness or injury and city to the campaign materials this year. These additions add to the local feel of the campaign aim to excite the associates and assist them in asking for donations. Also new this year, is the addition of a screen prompt asking customers to donate at the self-checkout areas. Some stores see anywhere from 40%-60% of their transactions at their self-checkout kiosks and we expect this addition to increase the number of donations we receive.
With the tweaks to the campaign materials and the self-check out prompts, along with hitting the $1 billion mark, the 2018 Walmart and Sam’s Club campaign will be one for the record books. We thank you for all of your efforts in making making it a success.
