Walmart & Sam's Club Relaunch Memo
Dear Hospital Colleagues,
We are excited to restart the 30-year anniversary Walmart & Sam’s Club fundraising campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals September 21st. Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented hurricane season. We appreciate your flexibility with the Walmart & Sam’s Club date changes while they focused on supporting recovery and relief efforts. Walmart executives share our enthusiasm for our campaign relaunch and I wanted to pass along their words of encouragement with you:
- “Our associates are passionate about Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and excited to help so many families again during this year’s campaign,” said Karisa Sprague, Senior Vice President for Walmart U.S. People. “With our customers’ help, these funds will provide critical treatment and much-needed care for those children who need it most.”
- “I couldn’t be more proud of the work our company has done to support those affected by the hurricanes, but we’re thrilled to restart our fundraising efforts for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals – a cause that has been near and dear to our hearts for so many years. Our associates are committed to the children in our communities and look forward to making a bigger impact this year than ever before,” said Sean Mehranbod, Western Region VP/RGM for Sam’s Club.
In my conversations with Walmart leadership, I know they are committed to the fundraising goals we have set. I am confident that your commitment to inspiring the associates to raise funds for the kids treated at your hospitals will be what makes our 30-year anniversary year our most successful fundraising year yet. Together, in partnership with these associates, you have raised nearly $1 billion. While you’re out visiting the stores during this campaign, please make sure the associates know how grateful we are for their many years of support. With seven additional fundraising days added to this campaign, I can’t wait to hear about your fundraising successes!
Thank you again for your dedication to this campaign and, most importantly, the kids.
Best,
John
