ACTION NEEDED: Thank Your Walmart Leadership for 30 Years
We’re excited to share the following email that John Lauck is sending to your hospital leadership today. The goal is to celebrate Walmart’s 30 years with CMN Hospital with an appreciation to the executives from your CEO and CDO’s. Please read the note below. Thanks for your help to make sure the top Walmart and Sam’s Club executives know how much your hospital appreciates all they do for the kids in your community! Thank you!

Hospital Leadership,
It’s time for the U.S. 2017 Walmart and Sam’s campaign. Since 1987, Walmart has raised more than $935 million for children’s hospitals. In celebration of Walmart’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals anniversary we need your help, please send a heartfelt note to Walmart and Sam’s Club leadership prior to the August 28 campaign start date. Your support is critical in helping us steward this incredible partner.
Click here to see the *lifetime fundraising results Walmart and Sam’s Club has raised for your hospital since the beginning of your partnership and to view the name(s) and contact information of your hospital’s national and local leadership. If you have questions about your hospital’s life-time total or about the upcoming campaign, please contact Patrice Johnson, Director, Partnerships at pjohnson@cmnhospitals.org.
During their 30th year anniversary campaign, we’re excited to announce Walmart has added a prompt-to-give on the self check-out screen for a purchase of $10.00 or more. In addition, Judith McKenna, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Walmart U.S. is championing ‘Fun’draising Friday’s during the campaign, adding additional excitement in the anniversary year. This grassroots program encourages associates to do something additional during the register ask on Fridays, encouraging customers to give.
This Saturday, 15-year-old Zion Thomas, a patient from MUSC Children’s Hospital, will attend the famous Walmart Saturday Morning meeting where he’ll kick off the campaign by interviewing Walmart Senior Vice President Karisa Sprague in front of Walmart’s worldwide leadership. Special thanks to MUSC’s CDO Barbara Rivers and Program Director Amanda Mahaffey for choosing an awesome champion to represent all 170 member hospitals.
Thank you for your support in stewarding the Walmart and Sam’s Club executives and we’re all looking forward to a great campaign!
* NOTE: During our 30-year partnership with Walmart and Sam’s Club some markets have experienced changes such as: Hospitals have entered and exited the Network, territories have realigned, all sub-markets were made whole (in sub-market situations the primary hospital would receive checks for the sub-markets, which means, we can provide the total dollars raised however, we’re not aware of how funds were split in those situations), etc. If your hospital fits into any of these categories and or your hospital has multiple ‘lifetime fundraising results documents’ or you have other questions, please reach out to Patrice Johnson (pjohnson@cmnhospitals.org), Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ Walmart Account Director who will assist in gathering all the data associated with your market.
